Vancouver, BC – Hector MacKay-Dunn, QC, Chair, is pleased to announce that Matthew Watson has joined BC Innovation Council as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Watson draws on over two decades of high technology leadership and corporate experience as he accepts the challenge of leading British Columbia’s sole Crown Agency advancing innovation and commercialization initiatives throughout the Province.

While serving as Senior Vice-President, Business and Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary at ACD Systems, he was a member of the executive team that increased revenues from $5 million to over $25 million.

“The British Columbia Innovation Council and its predecessor organizations make important contributions to advancing British Columbia’s position as a world-class centre for research, technology and innovation,” said Mr. Watson. “I look forward to working with Hector and the other exceptional members of the Council’s board and staff, the Ministry of Advanced Education, and its many partners and supporters in furthering the Council’s efforts and building on its many successes.”
