VICTORIA BC—Today, Vigil Health Solutions Inc. (Vigil ®) announced they will be moving operations to Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP) in August 2004.

The VITP already houses major Vancouver Island IT, biotechnology and life sciences companies such as Municipal Software Corporation, a developer of government business process automation software, and MDS Metro, a provider of equipment and systems for life sciences researchers. Vigil develops, markets and distributes customized, sophisticated monitoring and care planning systems for long-term care facilities. Vigil's innovative dementia technology is the first of its kind sold in North America .

“We are very excited to have the Vigil team on board at VITP. The addition of Vigil to the Tech Park helps to strengthen the VITP infrastructure of academic and technology excellence” said Dale Gann, VITP Manager, Business Development.

“Vigil is eager to join the extraordinary cluster of companies at VITP, it is becoming the hub of Vancouver Island 's growing technology community,” said Jim Kirker, Vigil President and CEO. “The volume of technology professionals at VITP creates momentum for the industry and opens up business development opportunities. Vigil is pleased to be part of the vision and culture at VITP that is helping to initiate global recognition of BC's technology sector.”

Mr. Kirker identified another reason for the move—the Company's steady growth in size since its inception in 1998. “With 21 Victoria-based employees and five regional account representatives across the United States , a new facility was a matter of necessity,” said Mr. Kirker “When choosing a location the Tech Park is the natural and ideal choice for any expanding technology company.”

The new 5,348 square foot space at the Tech Park will become headquarters to the company's operations when the renovations are complete in mid-August. The new facility will include an extensive product testing and demonstration room, as well as a loading bay that will accommodate the company's increasing product shipping and receiving requirements. VITP meets Vigil's immediate and future needs and gives the growing company room to stretch its legs.
