The Bike to Work Week Celebration was an overwhelming success at VITP. It was a terrific event for the VITP community to enjoy and we personally found it great fun to get to know our Tech Park neighbours a bit better and work together on this initiative.

Some highlights:

  • Over 65 participants visited the Celebration Station

  • Five teams competed in the Commuter Challenge and all cyclists and drivers arrived at the park within 4 minutes of each other – we declare that a win for ALL the cyclists!

  • VITP Chief of Security, Dick Melville, became a media star and was featured in interviews in both the Saanich News and on the A Channel Evening News – great press for the event and the Tech Park

  • 12 people signed up to participate in a future Cycling Skills Course to be held at VITP

Lucky prize winners included:

  • VITP Bike Locker Pass (five months!) – Shawn Cownden (EDS Advanced Solutions)

  • Bike to Work Week long sleeve t-shirt – Aaron Leskiw (EDS Advanced Solutions)

  • Bike to Work Week short sleeve t-shirt – Owen (BMGS)

  • Cycling Gloves – Eloy Mendy (Sierra Systems)

  • Cycling Kickstand – Julia Mohrs (MDS Metro)

  • Cycling Mirror – Patrick Dance (EDS Advanced Solutions)

  • Cycling Swing Bell – Grant Perkins (EDS Advanced Solutions)

  • Cycling Repair Tool (Allen Key) – Dick Melville (VITP Security)

Congratulations to all participants and organizers for a wonderful week!
