Startups! Interested in commercializing and testing your new innovation? The Government of Canada recently announced a new $40 million program to assist Canadian companies commercialize new innovations in the fields of Environment, Health, Safety and Security, and Enabling Technologies. Through this Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program (CICP), businesses can test their innovative products and services within the Government of Canada before taking them to the marketplace.

CICP helps bridge the pre-commercialization gap by:

  • Enabling Canadian businesses to showcase their innovations to potential government buyers
  • Awarding government contracts through an open, transparent, competitive and fair procurement process
  • Testing and providing feedback to entrepreneurs on the performance of their products or services
  • Empowering innovators with the opportunity to enter the marketplace with successful applications
  • Helping businesses get information on how to do business with the Government of Canada
