The UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre has been in operation since 1984, and is the longest operational not-for-profit protein core facility in Canada, providing protein analytical services to Canadian and international academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical laboratories. Supported by a collaborative relationship with Genome BC, our mandate is to offer investigators high quality protein analytical services based on cost recovery financing. The Proteomics Centre provides full high-throughput proteomics services, including 2D-LC protein separation, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and peptide mass mapping, MS/MS peptide sequencing, identification and characterization of post translational modifications, iTRAQ protein expression analysis, custom peptide synthesis, Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron MS, protein database searches. In addition to the many services provided by the Centre, other activities include various research projects for our collaborators, graduate students, and co-op students.
