Hong Kong, China – Premier Gordon Campbell officially opened the Asia Operations office for Victoria-based Royal Roads University in Hong Kong today.
“British Columbia’s post-secondary institutions are building stronger education connections than ever before with the Asia-Pacific,†said Campbell. “The expanded Royal Roads presence in Asia will strengthen our links with the world’s fastest-growing economy and contribute to our efforts to increase B.C.’s profile as Canada’s Pacific Gateway.â€
Premier Gordon Campbell says he plans to sell Asia on B.C.’s green technology and medical know-how when he arrives in Shanghai today on his fourth trade mission to Asia.
The trip, which runs until Dec. 7, will also include stops in other parts of China, Hong Kong and India.
“This is an important followup on a trip that I had last year,” Campbell said yesterday before flying out. “It’s going to be a long trip, but I hope it will be worthwhile.
“We’re really going to be talking about the trade relationships that we have. We are also going to be pushing our environmental technology.
